Bonsai – progress

Frame Tree – small but mighty

2 trees sprouted, this is the mightiest 🌱

The Brazilian Rosewoods were a complete no show…clearly not keen on the climate in my study, which is a shame. BUT I am not giving up…trying again with Blue Spruce, Black Spruce, Black Pine and Maple.

8 new seeds…will they grow?

Decided to try smaller pots and am going to pop them in the airing cupboard as a friend has recommended this as a good option. Time will tell, I’ll keep you posted 🙂

Knebworth 2022

Liam Gallagher – Cmon You Know

Took our youngest to Knebworth for his 19th birthday…Kasabian and Liam Gallagher the main acts. A totally epic day!

Accidentally found myself in the Kasabian mosh pit…

The Mosh Pit

Kasabian

He asked us to bounce, so we did.

Hundreds of thousands of strangers united by the beat of a drum, the wail of a guitar and the passion of a man in a leopard print 2-piece.
The ground trembled and shook as feet pounded the hill side, arms raised to the sky, hands outstretched as if reaching for a tangible piece of the euphoria which engulfed us all. Thousands of voices sang out as one, a wave of sound tumbling across the arena…

“I’m on fire…Whoo- oo-oo-oo-oo-oo”

The cold morning drizzle had gone, opaque grey giving way to sapphire in sunlight which blazed upon us, warming our bodies as the music did our souls. A space began to appear, growing larger as people braced again each other, away from an unspoken but mutually identified spot of importance. He noticed my confusion, and gestured frantically at me,

Move away! Move away!”

But I didn’t understand, and anyway there was nowhere to go…? The music reached its crescendo and in the blink of an eye the space disappeared, realisation hit me, a fraction too late!
Bodies slammed into each other, crashing and bashing with laughter and yells of joy. Back and forth, up and down – in my case down. Time slowed as I fell, landing not so softly on fellow comrades… three of us lay, fallen but not defeated. With grins, we grabbed each other and hauled ourselves up, finding our feet. High fives all round, we were BACK!

The frenetic bouncing eased, music paused and applause rippled across the sea of fans. A strong hand grasped my shoulder, turning I looked up into anxious blue eyes I’d known for 19 years.

“You okay?! I saw you go down and thought oh no I’ve killed my mum!”
My giant baby enveloped me in a bear hug, I hugged him back,
“It’s okay, I’m okay…it’ll take more than that to get rid of me!”
The music began to play, a flare went up…
I looked at him “shall we go again?!”
He grinned… “Let’s do it!”

End of the night – glorious

Song for the month

April 2022

Just can’t wait to get on the road again…

Goin’ places that I’ve never been
Seein’ things that I may never see again
And I can’t wait to get on the road again

On the Road Again- Willie Nelson

April was a month of adventure…we headed out to the stunning Peak District and enjoyed exploring nature. A happy month indeed.
